Wealth and Riches

We all want wealth and riches, for we want to feel safe because of their presence, but know that you can be very rich without accumulating wealth, for it is a richness based on God’s love. And in the end, it is love itself that makes you feel safe not wealth in terms of money. Richer, Fuller, Deeper is a mantra of mine, and to me Richer simply means more invested as a person in what we’re saying and doing. More mindful. Knowing that it is not money that is inherently evil but the bible says it is love of money that is wrong for us. We do not hold money and wealth above God. This is idolatry and the universe does not tolerate it in the end. By this I mean in practical terms that you don’t seek to insulate yourself with wealth, but allow your money to be unto your love and attention. It should follow where your love and intention lie. Give to what calls to your heart and you will be much calmer about that issue in the world. Money is not the problem it is the hoarding of money that’s an issue. Let it flow trusting it will be returned to you tenfold when it is given in service of love. For instance, I give to Feeding America which does exactly what the title says and it makes me feel a lot better about world hunger and people starving knowing that even the small amount I am able to contribute is helping fund a larger consciousness in its effort. What bothers you in the world? That should guide you that that is where you need to place your resources. Contribute to a world in which you want to live. Let that phrase be your guide. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all the rest shall be given unto you. Pretty powerful promise isn’t it? What it means is trust your heart to guide you as to when it is your turn to help, to give. Sometimes when I am approached for money on the street I check in with myself and feel it is not right to give in this situation. Instead, I give a silent prayer for their welfare and happiness and simply say, “I’m sorry it’s not my turn this time.” You will know when it’s your turn to give. You are just one cell in the body of Christ not the body as a whole although truly All is connected. We never give out of lack; always out of abundance. If you are giving to the point of lack, stop. That’s an imbalance too. So, seek ye first to support love’s presence in the world in practical ways. God cannot do for us what he cannot do through us is a great truth. Take it in. And know in the stillness of your heart’s desire, where do you want to help? Where do you want to place your riches, that they might become your wealth? Seek ye first to allow love’s presence on earth to grow and all else will be given unto you. It’s a promise. Allow yourself to trust enough to live it and you shall profit from it beyond measure.
